| Transposing The Common - Duo Exhibition |

Eastlink Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Transforming the Common - duo exhibition of Hans Wilschut (NL) and Shao Wenhuan (CN). Coming from different countries and carrying different backgrounds, these two artists both travelled to places at the other end of the world.
During the change of each other’s geographic positions, new perspectives were formed and representations as you’ve never seen before were created. Using both photography but leading different art techniques, they captured common scenes, either city landscapes or peoples but from a new angle, so the viewer is lead into specific questioning.
Hans Wilschut’s work originates from the urban world. His photographs are lyric reflections on the increasingly built-up surroundings. An underlying social theme can often be found in his pictures.
Classic historical sites and tourists are two main themes in Shao Wenhuan’s works. He captures what he sees along the road. The artist believes that the conception of history is more important than history itself, that’s why he is not bothered by the untruthfulness of the things he captures in his works.
Special thanks to the Mondriaan Foundation and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the for their support.
